JENNETS

We have a collection of small, nicely built, beautiful jennets at our farm.  They range in size from approximately 27" to 32"  - most in the 31" and under range, and are of a medium to drafty build, with colors ranging from silver to black, along with spotted and red.  Our personal preference is small and stocky, so our herd has been built on this preference.  We predominately breed for red and dark spotted, along with very dark colors.  We have carefully selected and painstakingly produced our donkeys for conformation - overall balance, straight legs, nice wide chests, round butts, small, pretty heads and good teeth.  I adore small, pretty heads and compact, stocky body types!  I admire all beautiful donkeys - my preference just happens to be compact and small.
Our goal is to produce a donkey with small size, very nice conformation, along with beautiful color and an excellent, loving personality.  We want our donkeys to be a pleasure to own, provide companionship and entertainment, along with being flashy little spots of color for your pasture.  My cute little donkeys give me such a sense of completeness and contentment.

Low-Down's Molly Grace
Black nlp Future Brood Jennet
I swore I was going to "share" all my 2008 foals, but when this tiny bundle of adorable stood up, I knew I couldn't part with her.  Lucy always produces the type foals we love, and has never disappointed us.  Molly Grace is a full sister to our junior herdsire, Graphite.

Low-Down's Jolene
27.25" Dark Red Jennet
Jolene is just barely over 27" and just a few months away from 3 years of age.  This is an adorable jennet out of 29.5" Teaspoon and 30.5" Itsy Bitsy Red October.  I have always loved Dolly Parton's song, Jolene, and determined that my first red jennet would be named Jolene, after the song, "Jolene - hair of red and eyes of green".  Well, no green eyes, but definitely hair of red - thus, Jolene.  Jolene will be matched with dark red, Pepi, this fall and we expect an awesome little red foal.

Low-Down's Shooting Star
Dark Red Future Brood Jennet
Shooting Star is an outstanding Carlos (black) daughter - small, correct, and with lots of presence.  Her dam is 29.5" Teaspoon and I expect Shooting Star to mature small.

Low-Down's Issabella Mia
Black/Brown Jennet Foal
Sire:  Sheloy's Carlos - 33" Black NLP
Dam:  Hauenstein's Esprit - 31.75" Gray/Tan Spotted
The Izz, as I call her, is remaining small - probably maturing at 30" or under. She is an outgoing little character, along with being a spoiled brat.  Izz is stocky, compact, correct, and totally adorable.  Izz will be matched with dark spotted Oscar Wilde when she's old enough.

Low-Down's Diamonds and Lace
29" Spotted
Very flashy and nice - Black Flag daughter.  Lacey carries predominately dark and red on her sire's side - dark and spotted on the dam's side, which includes the Someday's Caesar bloodline.  Lacey is staying very small - 29", stocky and very correct, small, beautiful head.  She will be joining the brood jennets in spring of 2008.  Lacey is another spoiled little brat that makes me smile.

Low-Down's Tiny Puff of Magic
29.5" Masked Spotted
Tiny Puff is an adorable little brat out of Mighty Small Dixie 30.5" Brown, and Little Magic, 30" dark spotted.  Puff is such a dainty, little cutie - she has been matched with dark spotted, Oscar Wilde.  Oh - the possibilities!

Satroma Ranch Walnut Blondie
29" Light Red
Blondie is the cutest little thing.  She is very nice and fits perfectly with our cute little jennets.  Many thanks to Liz Cole at Satroma Ranch for letting us add Blondie to our herd.  Blondie has been matched with dark red, Pepi.  I'm looking forward to a totally adorable foal this fall!

Hauenstein's Esprit
31 3/4" Spotted
Esprit is an all around nice spotted jennet - Someday's Caesar granddaughter.  I adore the foals Esprit produces, they are so small and stocky.  We have retained both her daughters, Diamonds and Lace and Issabella Mia for our breeding program.  Esprit was recently matched with dark spotted Oscar Wilde - can't wait!

758's Sarabella
Sarabella is a compact, 30.5" smoky black with cross nlp jennet.  Her dam is black, but her sire is red - LN Star Spangled Banner.  Sarabella has been matched with dark red Shaker, for a summer 2008 foal.  This compact little donkey has such presence and the most loving personality.  Sarabella's first foal is staying very tiny and has her adorable personality.  Sarabella will next be matched with Oscar, hoping for dark spotted.

Meyerland Tanta Anna
31.5" White w/Spots
Tawna, as we call her, is a nice, very stocky white jennet with a few brown & gray spots.  She has proven herself by producing beautiful foals.  I can never seem to get a nice photo of Tawna, but she is very correct and compact with a small, pretty head.  Tawna was matched with brown spotted Little Magic for a June 2008 foal.

Hauenstein's Teaspoon
29 1/2" Dark Russet Jennet
Teaspoon is a precious, tiny jennet that produces tiny, red foals.  Both of her foals have been red jennets.  She has even produced red, matched with black.  Teaspoon has about the daintiest head I've seen, and passes this on to her foals.  Teaspoon's sire, Someday's Destiny, is a full brother to SS  Red Lighting.  Her grandsire and great grand on her maternal side are 27" Someday's Cadillac Jack and 26.5" Someday's Sorentino.  Teaspoon has been matched with our dark red jack, 30.5" Pepi, for a late October 2008 foal.

MHT Alice
29 1/2" Brown Jennet
Alice is a tiny cutie pie.  Alice's sire is MHT Giovanni, who produces such cute, tiny heads.  Alice is currently matched with dark red, Shaker, for June 2008.

GP Lucy
30.25" Gray Dun
This tiny, stocky jennet is a daughter of Cool Hand Luke.  I can't can't say enough about Lucy - smart, seasoned brood jennet that produces excellent, small foals.

**********

Low-Down's Queen of Hearts
31 3/4" Dark Brown
Queen is a super little jennet out of Windcrest Abigail (brown/gray spotted) by MJB Jack of Spades (black w/cross Merlin).  Queen has an outstanding build with a beautiful face and expressive eyes.

**********

Li'l Angels Chloe
Chloe is a beautiful 31.5" black jennet.  Her sire is MGF Primero (black/white spotted) and dam is Elms Hedy Lamar (darkest brown).  Chloe has color in her background, including lots of dark red, and a super pedigree.  Chloe was matched with Pepi in March 08.

Gardner's Rita F.
31" Dark Gray
This pretty little lady is nicely built, produces small beautiful foals, and has red genetics.  Phoebe is currently pastured with dark spotted, Oscar Wilde.

**********

Low-Down's Candy Kisses
29 3/4" Light Brown
Candy is a tiny girl out of 30.5" Dixie, by 27.25" Chocolate Truffle.  Sturdy and compact, yet dainty, Candy has been matched with dark spotted, Oscar Wilde for a November 2008 foal.

Country Place Diamond Belle
Dark Sorrel Jennet - 31"
Not a very good photo, but Diamond Belle is a nice jennet - very dark, bright red.  Diamond Belle has been matched with dark red Pepi for a late 2008 foal.

**********

Feather Ridge Rinki
Dark Red Jennet - 32.25"
Rinni is a nice dark red jennet with an extensive pedigree, and she is small for a red.  Rinni produced an outstanding red foal in early 2006 and was matched with dark red Shaker for a May 2008 foal.  We think Rinni will produce another foal just as nice as her first.
